Former Nigeria international midfielder has urged the Super Eagles to approach their upcoming friendly game against Jordan with all seriousness, Footynaija.com reports.
Eric Chelle’s men are gearing up to take on the Chivalrous Ones at the Mardan Stadyumu in Antalya on Tuesday as they look to register back-to-back wins at the ongoing invitational four-nation friendly tournament taking place in Turkey.
Ahead of Tuesday’s clash, Ekpo has called on the Super Eagles to guard against complacency as their World Cup bound opponents will be looking to get a positive result and build momentum ahead of a big summer.

“There is no big difference between Iran and Jordan in terms of their playing pattern,” Ekpo told Complete Sports in a recent interview.
“However, what is more paramount is that the players must approach the game like a cup final despite the fact that it’s just a friendly game.
“Jordan will be eager to impress because they will be playing at the 2026 World Cup, while Nigeria will be using the game to create some level of understanding and bond among the players.”

The Super Eagles will be heading into their encounter with Jordan high on confidence after edging out Iran 2-1 in their last outing. Despite this, they’ll be wary of a Jordan side that has enjoyed a pleasing level of consistency in front of goal in recent games.
On paper, Nigeria boast enough talents on their roster to routinely dispatch their Asian opponents on Tuesday, but with the chance to prove themselves against a superior opponent in preparation for their maiden appearance at the FIFA World Cup, Jordan might just find a way to complicate matters for the Super Eagles.
