Rangers could be set to cash in on Emmanuel Fernandez this summer, with the Scottish giants reportedly placing a £35million valuation on the highly-rated Nigerian defender amid growing interest from top European clubs, Footynaija.com reports.
The 24-year-old centre-back, who arrived from Peterborough United for a modest £3.5million fee last summer, has enjoyed a remarkable rise at Ibrox. Standing at 6ft 4in, Fernandez has established himself as a commanding presence in defence, combining physical dominance with composure on the ball while also posing a consistent threat during set-pieces.
His rapid development has inevitably attracted attention. According to TeamTalk, Premier League heavyweights Arsenal and Chelsea were among the earliest admirers, and have since been joined by West Ham United and Everton, with interest continuing to build ahead of the summer window.

Across Europe, there’s also reported interest from Bundesliga sides Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen with both sides understood to be monitoring his situation closely, while Bayern Munich and Club Brugge have also been linked with the Nigerian international.
Despite the mounting interest, Rangers remain in a strong negotiating position. Fernandez is under contract until 2029, and the club are under no immediate pressure to sanction a sale, especially with his importance to the squad continuing to grow.
However, the £35million valuation suggests that the Scottish giants are not entirely ruling out the possibility of a transfer. Such a fee would not only represent a significant profit on their initial investment, but also eclipse the club’s current transfer record, set by another Nigerian defender Calvin Bassey following his move to Ajax.

With interest in the Super Eagles’ latest recruit continuing to build across Europe, Rangers may yet face a major decision if their valuation is met in the coming months.
