Ken Izekor has completed a loan move from Bayer Leverkusen to Eintracht Braunschweig, with the agreement running until the end of the 2025-2026 season and including an option to buy, Footynaija.com reports.

The 18-year-old has been part of Leverkusen’s academy system since 2018, when he joined from Alemannia Aachen at a young age. His progress through the club’s youth structure led to a professional contract signed in February 2023, tying him to the Bundesliga side until 2026.

Izekor has already appeared at senior level for Leverkusen, making his competitive debut in December 2023 during a UEFA Europa League group match against Molde. He was introduced late in that fixture, becoming the youngest player in the club’s history to feature in an official competition at 16 years and 204 days.

As confirmed by Footy D’Afrique, the switch sees the German born Nigerian centre forward step into 2. Bundesliga football.

From Leverkusen’s side, the deal follows a familiar pattern of placing academy players in competitive environments without severing long term ties. The option to buy gives the second division side room to secure the player permanently if his spell proves productive, while the parent club keeps a contractual safeguard.

On the international front, Izekor has represented Germany at youth level, playing for both the Under 16 and Under 17 teams.

His Nigerian heritage leaves future international choices open, though his current focus remains on establishing himself at club level.

The loan is set to run through the close of the season, after which a decision will be taken on whether the temporary switch becomes permanent.
