Manchester City have set their sights on bolstering their attacking options, with Brazilian forward Rodrygo Goes and Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia reportedly on the club’s radar, Soccernet.football understands.
The reigning Premier League champions have been relatively quiet in this summer’s transfer window, securing only one new signing so far—20-year-old right-winger Savio, who joined from Troyes for €25 million following an impressive loan spell at Girona.
However, City’s transfer activity may soon ramp up.
The club has already generated €41 million through the sales of Taylor Harwood-Bellis (Southampton), Sergio Gomez (Real Sociedad), Tommy Doyle (Wolverhampton), and Yan Couto (Borussia Dortmund).
Additionally, a significant financial boost is expected from the impending sale of Argentine forward Julián Álvarez to Atlético Madrid, which is set to bring in around €75 million, excluding bonuses.
This influx of funds is likely to be reinvested in strengthening City’s forward line. According to Marca via TribalFootball, City are targeting three high-profile players for next season.
One of the primary targets is Crystal Palace’s versatile attacking midfielder, Eberechi Eze.
The 26-year-old, who can also operate on the wings, is valued at €80 million. However, City face stiff competition from Tottenham, Liverpool, and Arsenal for Eze’s signature.
In addition to Eze, City are also keen on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the 23-year-old Napoli winger who impressed at Euro 2024, helping Georgia reach the round of 16.
Despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Napoli is determined to keep hold of their star player, who is expected to sign a contract extension with the Italian champions.
Rodrygo, 23, also remains a target, although prising him away from Real Madrid could prove difficult. With Kylian Mbappé’s arrival at the Bernabéu, City may see an opportunity, but Real Madrid is reportedly unwilling to part ways with the Brazilian winger.
