Beşiktaş have turned down an approach from Ajax for Wilfred Ndidi after the Dutch club submitted a loan proposal for the Super Eagles midfielder, Footynaija.com reports.

The Istanbul side were presented with an offer worth €2 million for a short-term move, with an option to make the deal permanent for €12 million at the end of the season, but club officials decided not to proceed with the structure on the table.

The Süper Lig side remain firm on Ndidi’s status within the squad, with the 29-year-old seen as a central part of their plans for the second half of the campaign.

Sources indicate that Beşiktaş were unconvinced by the offer, stating the €2m loan plus €12m purchase option was not adequate to justify parting with the midfielder.

Ajax’s interest formed part of their wider search for experience in midfield following an inconsistent domestic season and early European exit.

The Amsterdam club have monitored several senior options, with the former Leicester City player emerging as a target due to his availability and top level background. Their opening move, however, failed to shift Beşiktaş’s position.

Ndidi joined the Black Eagles from Leicester City in August 2025 on a long term contract running until the summer of 2028.

The Turkish side paid a fee in the region of €8 million to secure his services following Leicester’s relegation from the Premier League, ending his eight-year spell in England where he made more than 300 appearances across competitions.

The Super Eagles captain has so far featured in around 17 matches in all competitions for Beşiktaş this season, starting the majority of Beşiktaş’s league fixtures and scoring once.
