Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly begun negotiations to sign Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare from Genk as they look to bolster their attack before the end of the summer transfer window, Footynaija.com understands.
Wolves have suffered a poor start to the 2025/2026 Premier League season after falling to back to back defeats against Manchester City and Bournemouth respectively without scoring a single goal.
This lack of firepower has prompted efforts to reinforce their attack before the close of the transfer window. Wolves had initially pursued Getafe forward Christantus Uche, even agreeing a fee with the Spanish side.

However, negotiations broke down after failing to reach an agreement with the player, prompting the club to switch focus to Arokodare, who now tops Victor Pereira’s shortlist.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, talks are already underway over the potential signing of the 24-year-old who finished as the top scorer of the Belgian Pro League and won Belgium football’s Ebony Shoe award.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are in serious need of attacking depth following the exit of Matheus Cunha to Manchester United earlier in the summer. They have already added Jhon Arias and Fer Lopez to the ranks but remain determined to land another forward before the transfer window closes.
Uncertainty over Jorgen Strand Larsen’s future complicates the situation further. Newcastle have targeted the Norwegian striker, seen two bids rejected already and preparing a third worth around £60 million.
Wolves insist they will not sell Larsen, but the player has told the club he wants to join Newcastle. Even though they are reluctant to approve a deal, the club knows they may eventually have to let him go.
Regardless of Larsen’s situation, Wolves are committed to bringing in another striker. Sources suggest Arokodare has already agreed personal terms, though Genk are expected to demand a substantial transfer fee. Talks remain at an early stage.
