Nigeria’s glorious campaign at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) campaign has been further rewarded, Footynaija.com reports.

After lifting the 2024 WAFCON trophy, four Super Falcons stars have earned their spots in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Team of the Tournament — more than any other nation.

Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, who was also named Best Goalkeeper of the competition, headlines the Nigerian quartet. She was a key figure in Nigeria’s run to a record-extending 10th WAFCON title, keeping four clean sheets in six games.

Michelle Alozie earned her spot at right back following a series of tireless and intelligent displays at right back.

In attack, Rasheedat Ajibade, named Player of the Tournament, impressed with her creativity, leadership, and goals.

Esther Okoronkwo, meanwhile, delivered the performance of the final — scoring once and providing two assists as Nigeria came from 2-0 down to beat Morocco 3-2 in Rabat. She finished with two goals and six assists, the most direct goal contributions in the tournament.

Morocco contributed three players to the CAF XI, while Ghana and South Africa had two each — representing the four semi-finalists.

The lineup, set in a 4-3-3 formation, also includes Morocco’s Ibtissam Jraïdi leading the frontline, supported by the Nigerian duo. The midfield is anchored by Ghana’s Grace Asantewaa, Morocco’s Ghizlane Chebbak (top scorer), and South Africa’s Refiloe Jane.
