Wilfred Ndidi could be on the verge of a fresh challenge away from Leicester City, with top European clubs circling for his signature this summer, Footynaija.com reports.

The Super Eagles midfielder, who has earned 66 caps for Nigeria, remains one of the most sought-after defensive players on the market, thanks to his consistent performances and an affordable release clause triggered by Leicester’s relegation.

Still only 28, Ndidi has been the engine of the Foxes’ midfield since joining from Genk in 2017. From winning tackles and breaking up opposition play to dictating tempo, his influence was central to Leicester’s 2021 FA Cup triumph.

Even during a tough 2024–25 campaign that saw Leicester drop out of the Premier League, the Nigerian stood out as one of the few dependable figures in the squad.

As revealed in an earlier report, Ndidi is available for a cut-price fee this summer, with several clubs already making enquiries. Now, according to football journalist Ben Jacobs, Manchester United are among the sides showing strong interest. In a report posted via X, Jacobs revealed that the Red Devils have already held talks with Ndidi’s camp and even discussed personal terms.

Wilfred Ndidi still expected to leave Leicester City this summer. Leverkusen are the latest club to enquire.

However, with United currently prioritising the signing of a new striker, any move for a midfielder may require the departure of one from the current squad.

Bayer Leverkusen have now become the latest club to show interest in the Nigerian, joining a long list of suitors. Everton, along with two other unnamed Premier League teams, have made approaches. Juventus, Real Betis, and clubs from Saudi Arabia have also explored the possibility of a deal.

A regular in the Super Eagles setup since 2015, Ndidi has featured in major tournaments including the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations.
