AC Milan are prepared to offload Nigerian forward Samuel Chukwueze just one year after signing him from Villarreal, Footynaija.com reports.

The 26-year-old winger has struggled to establish himself in Serie A, registering only eight goals and six assists in 69 appearances across all competitions.

Despite showing occasional glimpses of his flair and direct attacking play, Chukwueze has found it difficult to consistently deliver in the Italian top flight.

With new manager Massimiliano Allegri now at the helm, the Rossoneri are set for a significant squad revamp, and Chukwueze is among the players deemed surplus to requirements, according to Milan News. The decision is part of a broader reshaping process as Allegri looks to inject fresh energy into Milan’s attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Spanish side Real Betis are reportedly monitoring Chukwueze’s situation closely, with a return to La Liga potentially on the cards. Betis are long-time admirers of the Super Eagles star, who previously impressed in Spain with Villarreal.

While Chukwueze has struggled at Milan, he has been a delight to watch for the Super Eagles under Eric Chelle. He has contributed two goals in four matches for Nigeria in 2025, including an assist in the win over Rwanda in Kigali and a stunning strike against Jamaica in the final of the Unity Cup.
