Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a move for Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika as new manager Thomas Frank begins reshaping the squad ahead of the 2025/26 season, Footynaija.com reports.
Frank, who joined Spurs this week following his departure from Brentford, is believed to have requested up to six new signings as part of his plans to rebuild the team.
According to All Things THFC, one of his first transfer priorities is bringing in a new defensive midfielder — a role Onyedika fits perfectly.
Onyedika, 24, has enjoyed a standout campaign with Belgian side Club Brugge, helping them to a Belgian Cup triumph and delivering solid performances in the UEFA Champions League.
The former FC Midtjylland star has made 141 appearances for Club Brugge since arriving from Denmark, contributing six goals and four assists.
Highly rated for his physicality, tactical intelligence, and relentless work rate, Onyedika is seen as a midfielder who covers every blade of grass. His ball-winning ability and passing range could offer Spurs the stability they crave in midfield.
Despite his experience in European competitions and domestic success in Belgium, the Nigerian international remains a relatively affordable option. He is currently valued at €20 million on Transfermarkt.
While no formal bid has been made, Tottenham are expected to monitor Onyedika closely in the coming weeks. Should they firm up their interest, he could become one of the first signings under Frank’s tenure at the North London club.
Only one Nigeria international has ever played for Tottenham, John Chiedozie, signed from Notts County in 1984 for roughly 440,000 euros.
The attacker scored 14 goals in 71 appearances for Spurs before leaving on a free transfer to Derby County four years later.
