Galatasaray have been warned of the potential repercussions of their desire to permanently sign highly sought-after Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen after his successful loan spell at the Turkish capital, Footynaija.com reports.

Osimhen played the 2024/2025 season in Galatasaray colours and the Nigeria international did well to reinforce his already established reputation as one of the most prolific goalscorers in Europe.

Ha bagged an impressive tally of 37 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions to lead the Lions to their 25th Super Lig title and first Turkish Cup triumph in six years.

That impressive campaign has made Osimhen a highly wanted asset for many top clubs all over the world and it comes as no surprise that Galatasaray themselves are desperate to secure his signature on a permanent basis.

However, Ertem Sener, a Turkish football expert has raised concerns over the potential cost outlay of prying Osimhen out of Napoli’s hands. Sener even went as far as citing bankruptcy as a possible repercussion.

What Ertem Sener said

“I am not in favour of Galatasaray buying Victor Osimhen,” he said in quotes revealed by habersarikirmizi.com.

“You will pay €25 million in annual salary and €70–75 million in transfer fees. This means bankruptcy.

“The information I received is that Osimhen wants to go to Saudi Arabia to earn a higher salary from the Arabs.”

Does Victor Osimhen really want Saudi move?

While there might be a real cause for concern if Galatasaray are successful in their bid to lure Osimhen back to RAMS Park on a permanent basis, Sener’s claims about the player’s desire to go to Saudi Arabia conflicts with recent reports.

The Nigerian hitman recently rejected an offer from Al Hilal, turning down a deal worth up to €26 million annually, as he reportedly wants to stay in Europe to continue competing at the highest level.
