Inter Milan are eager to recall promising Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro from his loan spell at Sampdoria ahead of this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup, footynaija.com reports.

Akinsanmiro, who joined Sampdoria on loan last summer, has enjoyed a solid run of games throughout the season despite the club’s turbulent campaign that included multiple managerial changes.

Though Sampdoria appeared destined for relegation, the enforced demotion of Brescia for off-field infractions has handed them a dramatic playoff lifeline.
Sampdoria are set to face Salernitana in a two-legged tie to determine their league status, and the Blucerchiati view Akinsanmiro as a vital part of their survival hopes. The club is pushing to retain the former Remo Stars talent until after the playoff concludes next month.
Inter, however, are under pressure to finalise their squad for the Club World Cup and see Akinsanmiro — who wore the No. 41 shirt during his brief Serie A appearances last term — as a valuable inclusion.
