Ebere Paul Onuachu was born on May 28, 1994 in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. He began his football journey with FC Ebedei, an affiliate team of Danish club FC Midtjylland based in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, Nigeria.

Onuachu eventually joined Midtjylland in 2012, making his debut that year and signing contract extensions in 2013 and 2015 before a brief loan spell at Vejle BK. He won the Danish Superliga in 2015 and 2018 and famously scored in a Europa League win against Manchester United in 2016.
