The Super Eagles are ready for another big test as they host Zimbabwe today Tuesday, March 25, 2025, in Uyo, Footynaija.com reports.

After a strong 2-0 win over Rwanda, all attention has shifted to this must-win fixture in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Head coach Eric Chelle has a fully fit squad available, which gives him good selection headaches.

So, what will Chelle’s starting eleven look like against Zimbabwe? Here is a possible line-up and the players who might have to start from the bench.

Goalkeeper

Stanley Nwabali is almost certain to keep his place. The Chippa United shot-stopper kept a clean sheet against Rwanda and continues to be the number one choice.

Defenders

At right-back, Bright Osayi-Samuel has recovered from his dead leg and should start. Ola Aina is expected to play at left-back, though Chelle could also choose Bruno Onyemaechi.

The centre-back pairing of William Troost-Ekong and Calvin Bassey worked well in the last match, and both are likely to start again. Igoh Ogbu will probably stay on the bench but could be an option if needed.

Midfielders

In midfield, Wilfred Ndidi is the anchor. Alex Iwobi and Raphael Onyedika are likely to join him in a three-man midfield. Joe Aribo and Alhassan Yusuf will provide depth but may have to settle for bench roles unless Chelle changes formation.

Forwards

Victor Osimhen will lead the attack after scoring twice against Rwanda. Ademola Lookman should start on the left, with either Samuel Chukwueze or Moses Simon on the right.

Victor Boniface and Sadiq Umar are exciting options from the bench if the coach wants to change things in the second half.
