Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu returns to club football this weekend with a clear target to score his first goal against Galatasaray, Footynaija reports.
The Trabzonspor forward has been one of the standout performers in the Turkish top flight this season, but one small gap remains in an otherwise impressive record.
The Nigerian star will lead the line when both sides meet at Papara Park, hoping to add another chapter to what has already been a prolific campaign. Since arriving from Southampton last summer, Onuachu has quickly found his rhythm, scoring 21 league goals and providing two assists in just 24 appearances. That return has placed him firmly among the division’s most dangerous attackers.

His consistency in front of goal has seen him outscore several high-profile names, including Victor Osimhen, Mauro Icardi, Eldor Shomurodov and Anderson Talisca. Yet despite that strong form, Galatasaray remain one of the few sides he has not managed to break down.
When the teams last met at Rams Park, the game ended in a goalless draw, with Onuachu kept unusually quiet. It is a rare occurrence this season, given how regularly he has delivered for Trabzonspor. The 2.01m striker has built a reputation for troubling defenders with his physical presence, aerial strength and sharp finishing, making his lack of a goal against Galatasaray all the more notable.
There is also a broader pattern at play. Onuachu has scored against most teams he has faced more than once, with only a small number still resisting him. Adana Demirspor and Eyüpspor are among those exceptions, and Galatasaray could join that list if he draws another blank.
For a player enjoying such a dominant season, that is unlikely to sit comfortably. This weekend offers him another opportunity to correct it, and to seal his status as one of the league’s most reliable scorers. With home support behind him, Onuachu will be expected to make his mark and ensure Galatasaray are no longer the team that got away.
