Nigeria ended their four-game Antalya tournament with a 2-2 draw against Jordan, a result that felt like two dropped points more than one earned, Footynaija.com reports.
The Super Eagles led twice, created enough to win, and were on course for back-to-back victories before a Jordan equaliser in the 77th minute denied them.
A red card for Alex Iwobi deep in stoppage time added a bitter edge to what had been an otherwise encouraging March window.
Nigeria beat Iran 2-1 in the opener, and this was always the final test of the window. Chelle rotated heavily, giving fringe players and debutants a chance, and the result was a mixed bag that tells him plenty heading into the AFCON 2027 qualifier cycle.
Here are the player ratings, based on match performance.
Francis Uzoho — 6/10
Replaced in the 58th minute. Jordan’s goal came from a powerful Tamari finish that gave him little chance, but he wasn’t given much time to make his case for the starting berth.
Bright Osayi-Samuel — 7/10
Energetic and direct down the right. Provided the assist for Fernandez’s goal in the 41st minute, driving forward before playing the ball into his path. One of the better performers on the day.
Emmanuel Fernandez — 7.5/10
A debut to build on against Iran became a statement here. The Rangers defender scored Nigeria’s second goal with a composed finish in the 41st minute after being played through by Osayi-Samuel. Looked assured on the ball and handled himself well defensively for a player still finding his feet at international level.
Igoh Ogbu — 6/10
Solid enough without being outstanding. Dealt with Jordan’s movement reasonably well but was not tested severely before being part of a reshuffled defensive setup in the second half.
Zaidu Sanusi — 6/10
Quiet throughout. Did his defensive work without troubling the scorers or the notebook in either direction.
Raphael Onyedika — 6/10
Replaced at the 59-minute mark alongside two others. Did not impose himself on the game the way Chelle would have wanted from a player pushing for a regular starting berth.
Frank Onyeka — 6.5/10
Brought his usual energy and pressed without the ball. Replaced in the 81st minute, by which point the draw had already been conceded. Not his best showing but still one of the more reliable presences in the first half.
Yira Sor — 6/10
Made his senior debut and showed flashes of quality going forward, but was unable to sustain it over a full half before being replaced in the 59th minute. More time will tell what he can do at this level.
Ademola Lookman — 6.5/10
Started brightly but could not find the decisive moment his quality suggests he should. Picked up a yellow card in stoppage time, which will need to be managed. Had a hand in the buildup to Nigeria’s opener but faded in the second half.
Moses Simon — 7.5/10
Captained the side and justified the armband with a well-taken equaliser in the 25th minute, controlling a scramble in the box before striking powerfully into the left corner. Led by example throughout and was one of Nigeria’s most consistent performers before making way in the 81st minute.
Akor Adams — 6.5/10
Had an Adams effort disallowed for offside in the first half and worked hard throughout. Linked play well but was unable to add to his goal from the Iran game. The offside call was frustrating on a day where a bit more luck might have changed the result.
Substitutes
Adebayo Adeleye — 6/10
Came on for Uzoho at the break. Jordan’s equaliser came on his watch, Tamari’s replacement Al Aldahod scoring in the 77th minute, which will sting. Not entirely his fault given the number of defensive changes, but the goal arrived all the same.
Wilfred Ndidi — 6.5/10
Came on at the hour mark and added composure in midfield. Could not prevent Jordan from finding an equaliser but helped Nigeria keep shape in the closing stages until the red card disrupted things.
Alex Iwobi — 5/10
Introduced at 59 minutes and was sent off in the 90+3rd minute, leaving Nigeria down to ten men. It was a rather poor way to end what had otherwise been a productive window for the Fulham midfielder.
Philip Otele — 6/10
Made his senior debut in the 81st minute. Too brief to rate fairly beyond the fact that he showed willingness on the ball.
Samuel Chukwueze — 6/10
Also came on in the 81st minute and added some directness down the flank, but had no time to influence the result.
