Former Nigeria goalkeeper Precious Dede has shared heartwarming news that has brought smiles to football fans across the country and beyond, footynaija.com reports.
After many years of waiting to become a mother, the Super Falcons legend has welcomed quadruplets, two boys and two girls, in what she described as a powerful moment of faith and joy.
The 46-year-old, who married quietly some years ago, announced the arrival of her babies on Instagram. Alongside a photo of herself during pregnancy, she poured out her emotions in a message filled with gratitude.
She wrote: “After many years of waiting, God showed up in the most beautiful way—- FOUR precious blessings at once💙💙💖💖. Double the boys, double the girls, quadruple the joy.
“Our hearts are full beyond words. Years of prayers, tears, and hope… now turned into four miracles. God is faithful 🙏🏾 From waiting to overflowing… One pregnancy, Four heartbeats.. Endless joy 💙💙💖💖.
“Proof that delay is not denial. He turned our waiting into wonders👌 When God writes your story, He makes it beautiful in His time… God didn’t just answer….He overdelivered. Congratulations to my family.”
Many fans and former teammates quickly sent messages of congratulations, calling the birth a miracle and praising her strength and patience.
Dede is widely seen as one of the greatest goalkeepers to ever play for Nigeria’s women’s team, the Nigeria women’s national football team.
Born in Lagos in January 1980, she spent over ten years protecting Nigeria’s goal and earned 99 international appearances.
She represented the country at several big tournaments, including the FIFA Women’s World Cup and the Olympic Games. At club level, she starred for Delta Queens FC, Rivers Angels FC, and Bayelsa Queens FC, and later played in Europe with Arna-Bjørnar.
She also lifted the African Women’s Championship twice before retiring in 2016, closing the chapter on a proud and inspiring career.
