Fulham will be without the full complement of their Super Eagles contingent for their Premier League matchday 27 clash against Sunderland on Sunday with Samuel Chukwueze ruled out through injury, Footynaija.com reports.

Cottagers head coach Marco Silva confirmed the Nigerian winger’s unavailability while providing a fitness update on his squad ahead of their trip to the Stadium of Light.

Chukwueze picked up a knock in Fulham’s last Premier League outing, a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City, and was subsequently unable to feature for the West Londoners in their 2-1 FA Cup win over EFL Championship side Stoke City.

Ahead of the Cottagers’ trip to Sunderland, Silva revealed that the Nigeria international will not be playing any part in Sunday’s clash as he continues to recover from a “not too serious” calf injury.

“The only player who is going to be out of the game is Chukwueze,” Silva was quoted by the club’s official website.

“After City he felt something in his calf, nothing serious but even today in the morning he was involved in some drills.‎‎

“Probably in the first section of next week, he is going to be completely ready to work with the team and he is going to be back for the next game.”

Fulham currently sit 12th on the Premier League standings while Sunderland occupy 11th place. With just two points separating the pair, victory for Silva’s charges will see them leap-frog Sunday’s adversaries on the table.

The Cottagers needed a late Raul Jimenez strike in the 84th minute to secure a crucial 1-0 victory when both sides faced off at Craven Cottage in the first half of the season. They’ll be aware that an even tougher task potentially awaits at the Stadium of Light.
