Atletico Madrid have taken steps to speed up the integration of Ademola Lookman after signing the Super Eagles star from Atalanta less than a couple of days ago, Footynaija.com reports.
Lookman appeared to be on his way to the Turkish Super Lig this winter after reports emerged that Fenerbahce had struck a deal with Atalanta to acquire the services of the former African Player of the year.
However, Los Colchoneros, whose admiration for Lookman has been well documented over the course of the past year, swooped in at the last minute to hijack the transfer and land the supremely talented Nigeria international.

Atletico Madrid, who parted with around €40 million to secure the move, officially announced the arrival of Lookman on Sunday with the versatile forward committing the next three and a half years of his career to the La Liga outfit.
Just under 24 hours after Lookman’s arrival at the Spanish capital, plans are already in motion regarding his integration, with Diego Simeone keen to have Lookman fully immersed in first-team activities as quickly as possible.
According to Marca, the Spanish giants have adjusted their training schedule to fast-track the winger’s adaptation, with Lookman expected to link up with his new teammates straight after completing the final formalities of his move.
The aim is to familiarize him with Simeone’s tactical demands and high-intensity playing style ahead of a busy run of fixtures.

Atletico are hopeful that the Super Eagles forward can make an early impact, with potential involvement in the upcoming Copa del Rey quarter-final against Real Betis already under internal consideration.
Simeone sees Lookman as a valuable addition capable of offering pace, directness and goal threat across the front line, qualities that have been in short supply at key moments this season.
The former Atalanta star arrives in Madrid riding on the back of an impressive spell in Italy, where his performances in both domestic and European competitions further enhanced his reputation as one of Africa’s most dangerous attackers.
With Atletico still competing on multiple fronts, Lookman’s swift integration could prove decisive as Los Colchoneros push for silverware in the second half of the campaign.
