Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle has named a changed Super Eagles side for their final Group C match against Uganda at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, with Stanley Nwabali and Ademola Lookman both starting on the bench, Footynaija.com reports.
The confirmed lineup features eight changes from the team that edged Tunisia 3-2, reflecting Nigeria’s already-secured qualification to the Round of 16 and top spot in the group.

In goal, Francis Uzoho replaces Stanley Nwabali, who is struggling with fitness issues. Uzoho makes his first competitive appearance for Nigeria since the 2023 AFCON cycle, having last featured in a pre-tournament friendly against Saudi Arabia.
Calvin Bassey continue at centre-back but he is paired with Igoh Ogbu, while Bruno Onyemaehi retains his spot at left-back. At right-back, Blackburn Rovers defender Ryan Alebiosu makes his senior international debut, replacing Bright Osayi-Samuel.
Captain Wilfred Ndidi drops to the bench as Chelle avoids the risk of suspension, with Raphael Onyedika coming into midfield alongside Lazio midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.
Samuel Chukwueze returns in attack, Moses Simon earns his first AFCON start, and Lookman is rested despite his strong form. Osimhen starts and captains the Super Eagles, with Paul Onuachu preferred as his partner ahead of Akor Adams.
While Nigeria are already through, Uganda need victory to progress, with Tunisia and Tanzania contesting the group’s other decisive fixture at the same time.
