Chelsea and England goalkeeper Hannah Hampton has been named the winner of the 2025 FIFA The Best Women’s Goalkeeper Award, edging Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie in a tightly contested ranking, Footynaija.com reports.
Hampton topped the voting with 28 points, finishing ahead of Barcelona’s Cata Coll and Lyon’s Christiane Endler to become only the second England player to win the award after Mary Earps. Nnadozie placed fourth with eight points, narrowly missing out on a podium finish.

The Super Falcons goalkeeper’s ranking reflects a year of sustained excellence rather than a single standout moment. At 25, she continues to establish herself among the world’s elite, finishing above Ann-Katrin Berger, Anna Moorhouse and Phallon Tullis-Joyce.
Nnadozie’s form in England has been particularly impressive.
SAFE HANDS.

She currently leads the Women’s Super League goal-prevention chart, a metric that compares expected goals on target faced with actual goals conceded. Her value of 2.9 puts her ahead of Hampton and Japan international Ayaka Yamashita.
Her latest display came in Brighton’s 1–0 win over London City Lionesses, where she made five saves to keep her third clean sheet of the season. She has now recorded 42 saves in ten league matches, helping Brighton boast one of the league’s strongest defensive records.

Earlier this year, Nnadozie also finished fourth in the inaugural Women’s Yachine Trophy, an award won by Hampton.
The former Paris FC shotstopper, though, remains the best on the continent after picking up her third consecutive CAF Goalkeeper of the Year award a couple of weeks ago.
