Kareem Ramotalahi opened the scoring early in the first half with a delightful finish after dancing past her marker before lifting the ball over the goalkeeper.
Benin, the fresher side, pushed hard for an equaliser but found Nigeria’s defence too organised to break. On the hour mark, Ramotalahi struck again, bursting into the box from the right and drilling a low shot into the net to double Nigeria’s lead.
The Falconets maintained control for the remainder of the game, keeping possession and managing the tempo expertly. Deep in stoppage time, substitute Precious Oscar sealed the victory with a sharp strike after Benin failed to clear a corner.
The win keeps Nigeria top of the table with six points from two matches, followed by Ghana with three and Benin with none. With the round-robin format continuing, Nigeria will face Ghana again on Tuesday before meeting Benin on Wednesday.
Having scored six goals in two games, the Falconets look in unstoppable form and firm favourites to lift their first WAFU B U20 Girls Cup crown.
