Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman finally got his name on the score sheet as Atalanta battled to yet another draw in Serie A when they hosted Lombardy rivals AC Milan at the New Balance Arena on Tuesday night, Footynaija.com reports.
Prior to Tuesday night’s clash against the Rosonerri, Lookman had endured a barren spell in front of goal. The usually prolific Nigeria forward failed to produce a single goal contribution in his first six appearances across Serie A and Champions League matches this season.
To his relief though, he brought that dry spell to an end with a superb goal and earned a point for Atalanta as he latched onto Mario Pasalic’s wonderful through pass before rifling his shot past a helpless Mike Maignan in AC Milan’s goal post.

Lookman’s goal, having come in the 35th minute, drew La Dea level in the contest as Italian midfielder Samuele Ricci had earlier put Milan in the lead with a beautiful half-volley from outside the penalty area just four minutes into the game.
Relieved to finally find the back of the net, the Super Eagles star admitted after the match that it had been a testing few weeks but he remains focused on getting back to his best shape and form.

“It was important to be available to the team again,” he said, as quoted by Milan Press. “I hope to get even more fit. It took me a while, but now we have to grow and aim to win the next few games. When I’m on the pitch, the most important thing is to help the team win.”

This latest result means Atalanta remain unbeaten in Serie A and have now recorded a fifth straight draw across all competitions.
