Valencia sporting director Miguel Angel Corona has praised Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq for his all-round brilliance since arriving at the Estadio de Mestalla in the January transfer window, Footynaija.com reports.
Sadiq made a winter loan switch to Valencia after struggling to get playing opportunities at parent club Real Sociedad. The Nigeria international has gone on to become an impact player for Los Che since making that move.
He appears to be regaining that scintillating goal-scoring form he displayed while at Almeria which caught the eye of Real Sociedad and in 15 appearances so far, the lanky Nigerian striker has notched six goals for Valencia.
Sadiq’s impressive resurgence at the Mestalla has sparked speculations regarding his future. With the campaign well into its closing stages and his loan spell consequently nearing its end, the big question about where the striker’s future lies comes into focus.
When this question was posed to Corona, the Valencia chief neatly sidestepped the inquiry, opting instead to shower praises on the Nigerian hitman and emphasize that the club is fully focused on achieving their primary objective at the moment.

“There’s no indication from us. The important thing here is to win games, and the manager has to use all the necessary tools, and I know he’s doing that,” he said in quotes revealed by Eldesmarque.
“Well, we want, above all, to confirm our objective. That’s the most important thing. We’re very happy. His numbers also speak for themselves: I don’t need to speak for him.
“He’s contributed a lot, and not just in goals, which are numbers, but also in all the work he contributes to the team , as of course all his teammates do. And as Carlos rightly points out, they are managing as a group to raise the level of each player for the good of the team.”
With Corona giving nothing away at the moment, it remains unclear whether Valencia will opt to sign Sadiq on a permanent basis or if he will return to Real Sociedad.
