Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie played a key role as Paris FC secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Le Havre in the Coupe de France Féminine semifinal on Friday night, Footynaija.com reports.

Paris FC, who were on the road at Stade Océane, took control of the match early, with first-half goals from Gaëtane Thiney and Kessya Bussy putting them in command.

However, Le Havre fought back late, pulling one back through Madeline Roth in the 84th minute. Despite the pressure, Nnadozie stood firm, making crucial interventions to help her side see out the win.

The triumph is a redemption for Paris FC after last season’s disappointment, when they fell to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties at this stage of the competition. Nnadozie was an unused substitute in that match, but this time, she was instrumental in getting her team over the line.

Paris FC will now await the winner of the second semifinal between PSG and Saint-Étienne, with PSG the overwhelming favourites to progress. Should they advance, it would set up a high-stakes final in May.

Since moving to France in 2020, Nnadozie is yet to lift a trophy with Paris FC, despite winning multiple titles in Nigeria with Rivers Angels.

However, the 24-year-old has built a formidable reputation in European football.

She won the D1 Arkema Goalkeeper of the Season award last term and remains the only player to have claimed the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year title since its inception in 2023.
