Kylian Mbappé has been named France’s Ligue 1 Player of the Year at an awards ceremony in Paris, Soccernet.football reports.

The 25-year-old PSG forward received the accolade for the fifth consecutive time after scoring 44 goals this season.

Mbappé confirmed last week that he will leave PSG when his contract expires at the end of the season, with Real Madrid likely to be his next club. “Ligue 1 has always been important to me. I have tried to represent it well,” Mbappé said. “I will miss it, but I am excited for what comes next.”

On Sunday, Mbappé played his final home game for PSG, scoring in a 3-1 defeat against Toulouse. This brought his tally to 27 goals in Ligue 1, eight more than Lille’s Jonathan David.

PSG have two more league matches before the French Cup final against Lyon on May 25.

The award, decided by his fellow players, was presented by former Olympic champion Marie-Jose Perec. Other nominees included PSG’s Ousmane Dembélé, Brest’s Pierre Lees-Melou, Marseille’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Lille’s Edon Zhegrova.

PSG’s success was further highlighted with Warren Zaire-Emery named Young Player of the Season and Gianluigi Donnarumma as Best Goalkeeper. Brest’s Eric Roy was named Coach of the Year after securing European qualification for the first time in the club’s history.
