Brighton & Hove Albion have announced that manager Roberto De Zerbi will depart at the end of the season, Soccernet.football reports.

De Zerbi joined Brighton in September 2022, succeeding Graham Potter, who moved to Chelsea.

During his tenure, he led the club to its highest top-flight finish in the 2022/23 season and advanced to the last 16 of the UEFA Europa League this season.

The 44-year-old Italian has been a key figure on the South Coast, steering Brighton to European competition after an impressive 2023/24 campaign.

In a statement on Brighton’s website, De Zerbi said, “I am very sad to be leaving Brighton, but I am very proud of what my players and staff have achieved with the support of everyone at the club and our amazing fans over the past two historical seasons.”

He added, “We have agreed to end my time at Brighton so that the club and I can continue to work in ways that best suit our own ideas and visions. I have enjoyed an intense and challenging two years in the Premier League, and leaving now gives me time to take a break before deciding on my future plans.”

De Zerbi has been linked with several top clubs recently, including Bayern Munich, Napoli, AC Milan, and Juventus.
